About the X Factor

Craig and Brian live with their mum and dad and have a half brother from their dad's previous relationship.

The MacDonald Brothers have been seriously singing together for 3 years at weddings, clubs and occasionally doing backing vocals.

Craig and Brian have been singing and playing the accordion and the fiddle together ever since they were children.

The duo first realised that singing was their dream after performing at a school talent contest in a band called 'Cobra' which was a Queen tribute band.

One of their biggest performances as The MacDonald Brothers was in front of Hugh Grant at the Ceilidh Dance.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported The MacDonald Brothers through this website.
We have now removed the facility to add new comments but you may still enjoy over 1800 comments left for the boys!

Hi Angela & Co. I am sorry that you didn't enjoy the concert, however I feel that you should take up the problems with the venue and should probably have asked the people in front of you to sit down. I went to see the guys at the pavillion and they were amazing. So amazing that I booked tickets for Motherwell & Ayr. I hardly think you should punish the boys by refusing to buy another album as I think the problems you entailed were no fault to the Craig & Brian. Anyhoo! These guys will go far x

I am an Authorised Officer for South Ayrshire Trading Standards Service. Each year we run local heats for the Young Consumer of the Year Competition, which every school in Britain has the chance to take part in. The competition is a great opportunity for the young people in the teams and it gives them a chance to win through to the National Final held during the Trading Standards Institute's National Conference. This year it was held in Manchester, and Samia Smith from Coronation Street was there to present the prizes. This year we are hosting the West of Scotland final in Ayr and would be grateful if you would consider attending the event at the Burns Heritage centre, either to host the event or present the trophies. We try to make the event as upbeat and appealing as possible to the young people, and we believe that Consumer Education is important and relevant to life these days. We know that your attendance would generate much interest in the event, and know that you are always generous with your time in helping the local community. If you feel that you would be interested in helping us, you can contact me at: linda.gaw@south-ayrshire.gov.uk, or telephone 01292 616065. I look forward to your response. Thanks, Linda

We went to fraserburgh leisure centre to hear the boys expecting them to be as good as we have heard before at Aberdeen. However we were very dissappointed to be sitting behind a group of young women who were more interested in dancing around with bottles at their mouths, displaying loutish behaviour. The stewards never intervened. We fully expected to be able to sit on the seats we paid for and enjoy the concert. We were so disgusted with the quality of sound and the lack of organisation that we along with several others left at the interval.... very very dissappointed and will not be buying any more albums.
